This short course provides a broad foundation in landscape and garden design, making it perfect for: 

• Homeowners who want to improve their outdoor spaces and take on DIY design projects.
• Individuals who are new to landscape and garden design and who want to find creative and fulfilling work in the industry.
• Individuals who aspire to start and grow their own landscape design business.
• Professionals in related fields such as interior design, construction, or gardening who want to expand their skillset and provide a wider range of services to their clients.
  
  

This course will take you roughly 60 hours to complete. This includes videos, written materials, discussions, activities, study time, and live events and workshops. 

Most of our students dedicate 1-2 hours per week to study around work and other commitments. 
At the beginning of your course, we'll provide a tailored study plan to guide you through the material at a pace that suits your schedule, whether you aim to complete the course in 3, 6, or 12 months. All live events and workshops are recorded and uploaded to the learning platform for later viewing. 

By the time you finish this course, you'll have a strong base in landscape and garden design, giving you the confidence to take on whatever comes next. What that next step looks like is up to you:

• Tackling your home project: With your new skills, you'll be ready to design and create an outdoor space that perfectly suits your style and needs.
• Embarking on further education: If you're aiming to become a pro landscape designer, this course is a great starting point. You'll be well-prepared to dive into more advanced courses or degree programs.
• Finding entry-level work in the industry: The course will give you the skills you need to explore entry-level jobs in the field. As you gain experience and keep learning, you'll be better equipped to grow your career.

During the course, you'll receive support and advice from an industry mentor. You'll connect with your mentor through:

• Live events and workshops: Attend regular sessions to learn from your mentor and inspiring industry guests.
• Feedback on your work: Receive detailed feedback on your activities and assignments to help you grow and improve.
• One-on-one session: At the end of the course, you have the option of booking a one-on-one session with your mentor to ask any final questions and receive advice on your next steps.

During your course, you’ll complete a variety of hands-on activities and projects where you can put your new skills into practice and receive valuable feedback from your industry mentor. 

• Knowledge Checks
  After each lesson, you'll complete a Knowledge Check—a short quiz that assesses your understanding of the key concepts presented in the lesson.
• Activity: Create a Mood Board
  In this activity, you will create a mood board for a real or hypothetical landscape design project, allowing you to explore and visualise different design styles and aesthetics.
• Activity: Create a Mud Map
  In this activity, you'll put your creativity to the test by creating a 'mud map' of a garden design. This hands-on activity encourages you to experiment with layout and features, offering a practical exercise in transforming your ideas into a visual representation.
• Activity: Concept Presentation
  Bringing together all that you've learned, you'll develop a comprehensive design concept. This final project will showcase your ability to apply landscape and garden design principles, creating a cohesive and functional outdoor space that reflects your design skills and creativity.

To complete a course with us, you'll need:

• A laptop or PC with a strong internet connection (to connect to live events and to download and upload files required for course activities)
• General computer skills such as creating, saving and editing Google and Microsoft Office documents, downloading and uploading files to websites, and participating in online discussion boards
